"Incredible events on the screen and surprising noises in the room await you: The film A MAN AND HIS DOG OUT FOR AIR (Robert Breer, USA 1957) will draw you into a joyful interplay of lines crossed with the twittering of birds. In DWIGHTIANA (Marie Menken, USA 1959), pearls, stones, glitter, paint and other things take sonorous walks over the works of Dwight Ripley. What fun! Can we trust our eyes? In the LOOSE CORNER (Anita Thacher, USA 1986) people disappear, one woman becomes two women, a dog grows to such an extent that he becomes bigger than a person. What do you think will happen next in the loose corner? A lion makes an unexpected appearance in TRICKFILM (G 2007). The two animated films were made by 22 Berlin children during a weekend workshop at Arsenal." After the screening, we invite everybody to paint and draw in Arsenal's red foyer. (sts)
