TWO DAYS AT THE FALLS (Isabell Spengler, 2016) shows two 360-degree pans over the iconic Niagara Falls next to one another via a split screen. One was shot on location, the other in a room-size model that Spengler built before travelling to the waterfall which is a distillation of all the images, texts, interviews, films, and digital replicas that have formed her impression of the place. This Berlin premiere will be accompanied by additional films on the figurative nature of landscapes: LINT LENT LAND (I. Spengler, 2009) conveys different movements in the view of a landscape model in a photo film. BEACON (Christoph Girardet & Matthias Müller, 2002) is an essay about the arts as a border. Followed by a discussion between Isabell Spengler and Volker Pantenburg. (is) (15.11.)
