The opening film DER HAMBURGER AUFSTAND 1923 (Hamburg Uprising, Klaus Wildenhahn, Gisela Tuchtenhagen, Reiner Etz, FRG 1971, 26.9., guest: Maurice Taszman) tries to listen to the men and women who participated in the last attempt at an armed socialist revolution in Germany. The three-part "newsreel" made at the dffb portrays the class struggle as a daily experience: hunger, strike, jail, concentration camp. HÄGRINGEN (Sweden 1959, 27.9., guest: Gunilla Palmstierna-Weiss) is an experimental feature film that combines surreal and subjective approaches with documentary. The film depicts a young man's encounter with a big city - Stockholm. He remains a stranger, never really able to form relationships or adapting to the dynamics of modern life. (fw)
