The second film program of the "Krass Films" course, which is offered as part of the UdK's Art and Media course, focuses on Krass' practical and experimental works with an animated film camera in particular and the medium of film in general. Industrial animation now uses other technologies so film presents open spaces as a medium and an object. Our course awakens a particular interest in the mutual relationship between the projected individual image and celluloid as a really long lasting image. The resulting films are vital narratives about the double screen: the filmstrip as a physical reality of the image and the projected area as a latent image-event. Films from almost a century will be shown, especially those that illustrate the ratio between material (WEISSFILM, 1977) and light (PASTORAL, 1950). They will be complemented by some of the course results. (bs) (28.1.)
