Canadian filmmaker Solomon Nagler is currently in Berlin as part of a residency at the Institute für Alles Mögliche. In collaboration with LaborBerlin, he is leading a one-week 16mm workshop entitled "Sculptural Cinema; Interventions of Light". In this film program, Nagler presents a selection of his works, some of which made in collaboration with Alexandre Larose. Sarah Darmon (Collectif Jeune Cinéma Paris) describes Nagler's films as a working on the border between narration and abstraction: "Landscapes and symbols are continually mixed up, raising questions of identity and internal memories. It seems as though, removed from the smooth surfaces of beings, we can touch their true selves…" (is)
