The three-month Living Archive Residency offers international artists and curators the opportunity to carry out research and watch films from the Arsenal archive with a view to developing their own project. We are happy to welcome current grant-holder Lisabona Rahman from Jakarta to the Arsenal cinema. Her focus lies on films by female filmmakers who work on 16mm and developed different forms of notebook, diary and sketchbook films: A PORTRAIT OF GA (1952) and COLOUR POEMS (1974) by Margaret Tait, NOTEBOOK (1962) by Marie Menken, O-DE-KA-KE-DIARY (1988) by Utako Koguchi and DER SCHMETTERLING IM WINTER (2006) by Ute Aurand and Maria Lang. The Living Archive Residency was started in 2011 in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut. (mr) (2.10.)
