Our series of screenings in large analogue image format continues with Kenneth Branagh’s MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS (USA 2017). Returning from one of his cases, Belgian private detective Hercule Poirot takes the legendary Orient Express. The train stops on a viaduct after the engine runs off the rails due to an avalanche. When art dealer Ratchett is found murdered, Poirot investigates – one of the remaining passengers must be the culprit. The fifth film adaptation of Agatha Christie’s 1934 novel of the same name, shot on 65 mm Panavision in a fully decked out real-life train with a real engine, brings together a star ensemble: alongside Kenneth Branagh as Hercule Poirot, Penélope Cruz, Michelle Pfeiffer, Johnny Depp, Judi Dench, and Willem Dafoe are all part of the cast.
