As the series boom continues, some of the most interesting formats are from Poland. SERIAL POLAND presents a selection of nine Polish series that have not yet been released in Germany. A discussion with their makers will explore the social significance of series in contemporary Poland. The event will open with the latest HBO Europe success ŚLEPNĄC OD ŚWIATEŁ (Blinded by the Lights), made by the auteur team Jakub Żulczyk and Krzysztof Skonieczny. It is about the last days of a cocaine dealer in Warsaw before his holiday. A perfectly organized routine, in which he supplies corrupt cops, politicians and celebrities with the white powder is knocked off kilter. SERIAL POLAND was organized by the Polish Institute Berlin (filmPOLSKA), Serial Eyes and the Filmnetzwerk Berlin of the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB).
