The Goethe-Institut in Paris dedicates its first annual rendezvous "La Berlinale à Paris" from April 15 to 18, 2008 to the Forum. Seven films will be shown from the last Forum editions, accompanied by several short works from Forum expanded.
At the 32nd Hong Kong Intl. Film Festival Musunde-hiraite (What the Heart Craves) by Takahashi Izumi has won the Golden Digital Award. Li Ying's Yasukuni was awarded as best documentary. The FIPRESCI award went to Wonderful Town by Aditya Assarat.
At the 30th international documentary film festival Cinéma du reel Invisible City by Tan Pin Pin and La Frontera infinita by Juan Manuel Sepúlveda received awards.
Forum expanded 2008 follow up

At the 22nd Festival International de Films de Fribourg (Switzerland) El camino by Ishtar Yasin Gutiérrez received the Ecomenical Jury Award. The main award of the festival, the "Regard d'Or", went to Flower in the Pocket by Liew Seng Tat.
During the official award ceremony of the 58th Berlinale Asyl – Park and Love Hotel by Kumasaka Izuru was honored with the Best First Feature Award. The jury awards the best debut film, considering films from the Competition, the Panorama, the Generation or the Forum programs.
The readers' jury of the "Tagesspiegel" assigns the award of 3.000 Euro for the best film in the Forum of the 58th Berlinale to God Man Dog by Singing Chen.
The Independent Jurys of the Berlinale donated five more awards to films in this year's Forum program: Corridor #8, God Man Dog, United Red Army as well as Be Like Others and Paruthiveeran.
