Heinz Emigholz: Architecture as Autobiography
Accompanying an exhibition by Heinz Emigholz at Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart Berlin the Arsenal in January continues its program with films of his series "Photography and beyond". The Forum 2008 will present Emigholz' newest film Loos ornamental.
"American Independents @ Forum" revisited
A two-months film series at cinema Arsenal in Berlin reflects the Forum's passion for American independent filmmaking. A selection of groundbreaking films span three decades of the Forum's pioneering work in this field, which brought early awareness to such filmmakers as Jim Jarmusch, Michael Moore, Gus Van Sant, and Todd Solondz.
Maria Speth's "Madonnen" in German cinemas
Maria Speth's Madonnen will be theatrically released in Germany on Dec 6. In October the film was awarded the film prize of the state of Hesse.
"Chrigu" awarded Zurich Film Prize
During the annual Zurich Film Awards, Jan Gassmann's Chrigu received the main jury prize from the city of Zurich, worth 30.000 euros.
Further festival awards for "The Halfmoon Files"
Philip Scheffner's The Halfmoon Files picked up awards in Duisburg (Germany) and Buenos Aires (Argentina). Even after its theatrical release in Germany the film is being shown internationally at film festivals.
