At the international film festival Visions du réel in Nyon Heimatklänge by Stefan Schwietert received the city's audience award, Frederick Wiseman's State Legislature the Templeton Special award of the interreligious jury.
Forum films in cinemas
With Dol by Hiner Saleem the first film from the Forum program 2007 will come to German cinemas, starting April 26. More films from the Forum 2006 and 2005 will soon be released theatrically.
"Shotgun Stories" at Tribeca Festival
Jeff Nichols' Shotgun Stories which world premiered in the Forum 2007 will have its North American premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in the section Encounters.
"In Between Days" Best Film in Buenos Aires
Last year's Forum entry In Between Days by So Yong Kim has been awarded as Best Film at the 9th Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente in Buenos Aires; Jiseon Kim received the special jury award as best actress. The FIPRESCI award was given to El telón de azúcar by Camila Guzmán Urzúa.
Humanitarian Award for "Potosi" in Hong Kong
At the 31st Hong Kong International Film Festival Potosi, le temps du voyage by Ron Havilio received the Humanitarian Award for Outstanding Documentary. The festival's opening film was Eye in the Sky by Yau Nai Hoi.

At the 21st Fribourg International Film Festival (March 18-25, 2007) the FIPRESCI jury, the Ecumenical jury and the "Don Quijote"/FICC jury awarded Le Cercle des noyés (Drowned in Oblivion) by Pierre-Yves Vandeweerd.

The 22nd Mar del Plata International Film Festival (March 8-18, 2007) awarded Sandra Hüller for her role in Maria Speth's Madonnen (Madonnas) as best actress.
"Klopka" wins Grand Prix in Sofia
Klopka (The Trap) by Srdan Golubović wins the Stella Artois Grand Prix for best film in the Competition at the 11th International Film Festival in Sofia. Armin by Ognjen Sviličić was honored with the award of the NISI MASA (European Network of Young Cinema) jury.
