Okyo is a headstrong black marketer who lives with her son Seitaro, a mechanic for a local bus company. She also looks after the bus driver Fujita, a colleague of her son’s. One day, Fujita causes an accident. Seitaro has moral qualms and testifies against him, thus getting his firm into trouble. (Annette Lingg)
