LE GANG DES BOIS DU TEMPLE (The Temple Woods Gang) may have started with a story, heard as a child in the titular district. It was recounted in the very place where 13th century travelers had been robbed and tied up, then delivered by an angel. Time passed, and I thought of my GANG as a tribute to both film noir and working-class neighborhoods. Inspired by a real news story, we concocted a series of situations that plunged our characters into a troubled, chaotic, yet indeterminate present. While the robbers are not necessarily the same as those we once believed in, an angel nevertheless appears to rupture the established relationships of domination—one where money is king—to open a space for the poetic within the closed gears of determinism and destiny.
