In 2022, the government started development projects in my city, which included the demolition of city factories and many homes. One day, I had a call with my girlfriend, and I was talking to her about that. She said, “How is it that no one knew about what happened in your city? How is it that no one is talking about it in the media or on social media?”
At that time, I thought: In a moment like that, what is my role as a filmmaker living in this city? And I realized I am a witness to that moment, and I wanted this film to be a document of that moment, and this document to be an alternative and anti-narrative about what happened.
