The Arsenal archive is already housed at silent green since 2015. A new cinema with approximately 180 seats and equipped with analogue and digital screening facilities will be built in the west wing. Additionally silent green Kulturquartier provides conference, seminar and exhibition rooms that can be rented for specific projects. Office space will be available on the premises and in a building opposite of the former crematorium turned cultural center.
The BKM (the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media) supports the Arsenal – Institute for Film and Video Art in its plans, not least because in silent green all areas of the institution – cinema, distribution, archive, the „Campus“ teaching programme, Forum and Forum Expanded – can be united under one roof for the first time.
The silent green Kulturquartier offers the Arsenal a unique infrastructure and networking opportunities with diverse players from the fields of moving image, visual arts and music.
