Our friend, the actress Carola Regnier, died at the end of November 2011. From January onwards we will be showing in loose order a series of films by directors with whose work she felt very closely associated, and in whose works she played the main role. We will start with an early film by Stephen Dwoskin, BEHINDERT (Hindered) which was made in London in 1974 and talks in with almost unfathomable clarity about being or becoming disabled. Before that we will show THE MAGIC DESK (2008) by Lior Shamriz, one of Carola Regnier's later film works, about the complicated mind-games that a mother and son play with each other. (29.1.)
