Gejagt von der Polizei, flüchteten sich in der Nacht vom 10. Juni 1987 hunderte von Studenten und Bewohnern in die Myong-Dong-Kathedrale und begannen einen Sitzstreik. Sechs Tage dauerten ihre Protestaktionen, die im weiteren Verlauf die berühmten Juni-Kämpfe in Korea auslösten. Anhand von Originalaufnahmen und Augenzeugenberichten werden die Entwicklung des Protests, die Hoffnungen und Meinungsverschiedenheiten unter den Teilnehmern sowie der politische Hintergrund der Ereignisse verdeutlicht, die damals in der ganzen Welt für Aufmerksamkeit sorgten.

The Six Day Struggle In Myongdong Cathedral is a record of the protests in the Myong Dong-Cathedral, which sparked off the famous June 1987 struggle in Korea. On the night of June 10th, 1987, hundreds of students and citizens fleeing from the police took refuge in Myongdong Cathedral and began a sit-in protest. Film footage and eye witness accounts reveal the development of the protest, the hopes and the disagreements of the protesters, and the political background of the event. In particular the film focuses on the background to the sudden dispersal of this very symbolic Myongdong protest, a protest which captured the attention of people not only in Korea, but throughout the entire world.
