Rustem ist faul und gleichgültig. Als er entlassen wird, fängt ein merkwürdiges Leben an, das vor allem aus ziellosen Spaziergängen durch die Stadt besteht. Dabei lernt er Miko kennen, ein sonderbares Mädchen, das schwindelfrei ist, seelische Verletzungen erlitten hat und manchmal in Ohnmacht fällt. Rustem gerät in eine große Gefühlsverwirrung. Über Mikos Vergangenheit, ihre Verwandten, die Art, wie sie ihren Lebensunterhalt verdient, erfahren wir so gut wie nichts. Die Geschichte dieses Mädchens jedoch, die inmitten ihrer Altersgenossen lebt und dennoch einsam ist und durch die Hauptstraßen von Almaty zieht, schafft – zusammen mit dem Reiz der frühherbstlichen Stadtlandschaft und den Liedern von Dina Shantilejewa – jene anrührende Stimmung, die einen dazu bewegt, wirklich Anteil am Dasein dieses undurchschaubaren Mädchens zu nehmen.“ Andrej Tschernienko „Alle meine früheren Filme waren historische Dramen. Dies ist meine erste Erfahrung mit einer zeitgenössischen Liebesgeschichte. Die Hauptrollen werden von Laien gespielt. Wir haben uns dafür entschieden, um der Realität so nah wie möglich zu kommen. Die Studenten meines Workshops am Filminstitut von Almaty waren eng an der Entstehung des Drehbuchs, der Musik und an den Dreharbeiten beteiligt.“ Ardak Amirkulow	Rustem is lazy and indifferent compared to his competent sister. The zoo’s vice director indirectly tells him this when he fires him one morning. The ‘liberated’ Rustem begins a strange life, aimlessly walking through the city, sometimes together with a former schoolmate. During their walks and meaningless conversations they meet a strange girl who never has vertigo, and who has suffered emotionally. She is also prone to fainting. Rustem goes through great emotional turmoil. Miko’s neighbour Asis, a lonely and not so very young eccentric, who also looks after the lonely girl, finally opens his eyes. We don’t find out anything about Miko’s past, her relatives or how she earns a living. The story of this illusive girl arouses our empathy because she is lonely whilst living amongst her peers, walking the streets of Almaty. The film creates a touching mood by showing the city in early autumn colours and featuring the songs of Dina Shantilejeva.” Andrej Tschernienko “All my previous films were historical dramas, this is my first directorial experience with a contemporary love story. The main roles were all played by amateurs. We decided this in order to be very close to reality. My workshop students at the Almaty Film Institute collaborated closely with me on the writing of the script, the music and the filming. This experience was very enriching for the students and for me. Biofilmographie / Biofilmography Ardak Amirkulow wurde am 10. Dezember 1955 im Dorf Ak-Kul in der Region Dshambul in Kasachstan geboren. Er studierte Philologie an der Universität von Almaty und schloß seine Studien 1977 ab. Danach studierte er am Moskauer Filminstitut bei dem russischen Filmregisseur Sergej Solowjow. Seit 1996 arbeitet er als Professor am Filminstitut von Almaty. 1997 ist sein dritter abendfüllender Film. Ardak Amirkulow was born on December 10th, 1955 in the village of Ak-Kul in the region of Dshambul in Kazakhstan. He studied philology at the University of Almaty and graduated in 1977. He then studied at the Moscow Film Institute with Russian filmmaker Sergei Solowjow. Since 1996 he has been a professor at the Almaty Film Institute. 1997 is his third feature-length film.
