| Eine Dokumentation über vier Medizinstudenten Anfang zwanzig, die im Anatomiekurs ihrem ersten ‘Patienten’ begegnen. Die meisten von ihnen sehen hier zum ersten Mal einen toten Menschen. Bereits nach wenigen Tagen jedoch ist der Leichnam für viele nur noch ‘das Präparat’ – ein Arbeitsobjekt. Nur noch in manchen Momenten, etwa bei der Präparation des Gesichts oder der bewußten Betrachtung bestimmter Körperteile, erinnern sie sich daran, daß sie einen Menschen vor sich haben. Sie entdecken den Körper und seine ganz eigene Ästhetik. Ekel und Angst weichen Faszination und Neugier. |
A documentation about four
medical students in their early twenties showing them at an anatomy
lecture with their first ”patient”. Most of these students
are seeing a dead human being for the first time in their life. After
a few days, however, for many of them the corpse only represents ”the
preparation” – a working object. Only at certain moments,
for example, when they dissect the face or concentrate on specific parts
of the body, do they become aware that they are looking at a human being.
They discover the body with its very own aesthetics; disgust and fear
give way to fascination and curiosity. |
| Biography Born in Neustadt in the wine-growing areas of the Rheinland-Palatinate on 25.12.1968. Studied medicine at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. Trainee cinematographer. Studied at the Film Academy in Baden-Württemberg from 1992-98. TISCH NO. 6 is her graduation film. |
